For many sellers not being able to sell their home is a new and scary experience. For years selling houses in the UK was simple. You just listed with an agent and sat back until the agent had wound up a few buyers to outbid each other and walked away with some easy cash.
If you’ve been trying to sell your home in the current market you’ll know that the world has changed. Maybe it has changed forever!
The one thing for sure is that Estate Agents will no longer get you the best price for your property and you will find them asking you to reduce your price just so they can get a sale and get their commission at the end of the month.
So what can you do? If you’re in negative equity you can stay listed with your agent and just hope that some house buyer comes along who loves your house so much that she is willing to pay more for than market value for your house.
You could be in for a very long wait. If you’ve got to move due to a job or you are trying downsize or simply can’t afford to stay where you are and have no or negative equity the next few years are going to be very painful indeed.
There is a solution however. In some circumstances I can pay market value or sometimes even a bit more, depending on your circumstances, the house, what it is that you need to solve your property problem.
